We're Launching Rachel
By Jeff Salter
Rachel Van Dyken was already a star. She had quickly reached USA Today Bestseller status with one of her AP books. And soon her titles attained even more prestigious bestseller lists, like the New York Times.
That success would be enough to make some people snooty. But not Rachel. When (after my first title was out) I asked a question about the workings of Amazon, Rachel
patiently explained things, checked on my listing, made suggestions, and generally treated me like a valued colleague. Me — just a newbie at AP with ONE title out and middling sales! From that moment I realized we had a star who genuinely cared about her cohorts and actively supported their efforts with encouragement and promotion.
So it is an honest pleasure to join many others at AP in wishing the very best for Rachel as she has attained the golden ring that most authors actively dream of, but VERY seldom actually reach — a publishing contract with one of the large NYC houses, Grand
Central Publishing (Hachette).
For me, it’s a fascinating wrinkle that the two titles (so far) involved with this NYC
contract are books Rachel released as Indies, THE BET and ELITE. So, not only are her AP books topping the charts and breaking sales records, but at least two of her other
titles are soon headed into every reading device in America.
By participating in this launch of Rachel, I don’t send her away. I believe she’ll long maintain association with her friends and colleagues here at AP. While sending our AP star on this inter-stellar travel, I hope she knows she’ll always have a home here — where she can take off her heels and act goofy with the rest of us.
Here’s a list of Rachel’s books published with Astraea Press:
This one seems especially interesting to me:
This launch – the Rachel Van Dyken Got The Contract blog hop – will run from May 15 through May 19.
I’m told we can expect ANOTHER thrilling announcement at some time during the hop. If you want to know more about Rachel and what her friends have to say, check these
