Cover reveal! This is book #4 in the Regency series The Scoundrel of Mayfair, and it's called Whispers on the Hampstead Road. You can click on the cover for a larger size. Are those not some of the most gorgeous colors you've ever seen?

Release day is September 30, from Dingbat Publishing. It should be available for pre-order sometime this week.

The other books in the series The Scoundrel of Mayfair include:
Scandal on Half Moon Street
Mischief on Albemarle
Shenanigans in Berkeley Square

The fifth and final book has the working title As the Prince Does. Yeah, I know, it breaks the pattern. *shrug* It's what the book wants to be called for right now. We'll see if that changes.

Thanks for stopping by. Cheers and happy reading,

Vivian

COMING IN AUGUST! Book three of The Scoundrel of Mayfair, light-hearted Regencies with a royal twist — Shenanigans in Berkeley Square.

Here's the blurb:
#
The right man doesn’t know she’s alive. The wrong man’s out to change that.

Coralie Busche can only admire Kenneth Rainier from afar. He’s a most handsome philosopher of the Romantic movement and for months she’s eavesdropped on his conversations at the coffee house. If only she had the courage to join his debates… and perhaps more. Her feminine education of singing and sewing could be of no interest to such a man — but then that vexing rake, the Duke of Cumberland, brings her to Rainier’s attention and she can’t hide any longer.

Rainier has lived with his mercenary sisters for too long to suffer any illusions about women. They value money, position, and precedence, not life’s important things such as poetry or painting, and only very lucky men find true love. But when he notices Cumberland staring at a dark-eyed beauty hiding in the coffee house’s corner, Rainier is smitten. Perhaps there’s a chance he could be one of those lucky men.

Cinderella meets Romeo and Juliet with a gorgeous gown, an unusual ducal matchmaker with motives of his own, and two cynical, jealous sisters. With All Hallow’s Eve approaching, tempers flaring, and a duelist’s challenge thrown down, how can His Grace, the Scoundrel of Mayfair, teach some loving sense to two soaring sensibilities?

Details, including a release date, coming soon. In the meantime, thanks for dropping by.

Vivian

NEW RELEASE from a really good author! If you enjoy paranormal romance or urban fantasy or contemporary fantasy romance, then you don't want to miss the Dragon Spirit novels by C.I. Black. Her new release, Shattered Spirits, is only 99¢ for the next few days, but trust me, it won't stay there. This is a great opportunity to try a New York quality author for a very reasonable price.

The first in the series, Immortal Coil, has over a hundred Amazon reviews with a 4.5-star average, and the same sort of awesome cover.  I read Coil when it first came out and can't wait to read Spirits now.

Gossip sheet corner: My blogging buddy J.L. Salter's latest submission to Dingbat Publishing has been accepted and will enter the editing stage soon.

In the meantime, for those of you who can't wait to read more of Jeff's hilarious romance books, he's just released a new one through Astraea Press called Don't Bet On It. I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading this one, but I gotta say, I looooove that cover, as well as the idea of two people falling in love while waiting in line for a super sale. Very clever, Jeff, very clever.

The gossip corner says Astraea Press will soon get a new website, and that the talented Kay Springsteen has subbed a new Heart book
to AP.

Picture
Finally — and it is fin-al-lee! — I completed and subbed to AP the third book in my traditional Regency series The Scoundrel of Mayfair. Following Scandal on Half Moon Street (cover shown) and Mischief on Albemarle, this one's entitled Shenanigans in Berkeley Square. And another one gets crossed off the ever-lengthening list of books I want to write! YES!

Thanks for stopping by, everybody. Cheers,

Vivian

New release! And I gotta say, this is one of the funniest clean romances I've ever read. (The cleanest funny romance? Whatever.) My blogging compadre, J.L. Salter, is celebrating his latest screwball contemporary romantic comedy, Curing the Uncommon Man-Cold. Here's the blurb:
#
A stubborn boyfriend with the sniffles is the last thing Amanda needs in her apartment during THIS work crisis, but how can she get clueless Jason to leave without just ending their relationship?

Fortunately, her divorced girlfriend hurriedly develops the devious scare-cure. Amanda throws everything at Jason that Christine can dream up and that apartment becomes the least hospitable place a man could possibly imagine. Extensive potpourri and a glued-down toilet seat are just the beginning.

But how serious are the privacy risks as Christine blogs about her scare-cure? Can this crazy scheme really get Jason out of Amanda’s hair at home before she loses her mind at work?

Will Amanda’s relationship even survive the kooky cure of Jason’s man-cold?

Curing the Uncommon Man-Cold is available exclusively through Amazon.com. Trust me, if you like romcom, you'll love this one!

Releasing Friday!

The Chronicle Years

Picture
Releasing Friday is my first title since Mischief on Albemarle. This one's called The Chronicle Years, and it's a collection of poetry, fiction excerpts, and three short nonfiction articles, most of it written years ago for the excellent magazine, The Chronicle of the Horse.

All are equestrian related and it's only going to cost 99 cents, so if you love these big beautiful beasts, consider adding it to your collection, okay? Hey, the poetry's doggerel at best, but it's fun stuff. Thanks!

Cheers,

Vivian

This is another of the short stories originally written during my high school years. (ahem) Note the fancy-schmancy logo in the cover's lower right corner. Admit it — that's pretty cool.

This one will release in November. Cheers,

Vivian

This is a YA or teenager's short story, part romance, part an apprentice jockey settling into her career, and very much a racing story. It features a pack of two-year-old Thoroughbreds battling for a futurity win as their apprentice jockeys wrestle with their goals and dreams.

The first draft of this short story was written when I was a teenager. (Do NOT ask for dates. Not a good move, that.)

My friend, Kay Springsteen, a most talented author and delightful person, recently challenged me to look back through my early writing. I seem to recall some words about a learning experience, but she also said there might be some gems hidden away in them thar files. Well, she was right. Thanks, Kay.

Cheers,

Vivian
