To thank him, this grateful couple gave one of the few possessions they had after seven years of war, including occupations by both German and Soviet Armies, and then some three years in D.P. camps.
My father treasured this hand-crafted wooden platter for the rest of his life. It was one of the very few belongings he'd kept.
